UK Young Professionals Scheme: Final Ballot for Indian Citizens Starts July 22

If you're an Indian citizen aged 18 to 30 and want to live and work in the United Kingdom (UK), here’s your chance!
Under the UK-India Young Professionals Scheme, 3,000 visas will be given out this year. The final round of selection (called a ballot) opens on July 22.
This visa lets young professionals from India live and work in the UK for up to two years.
To apply, you must:
- Be an Indian citizen aged 18 to 30
- Have a qualifying university degree
- Have at least £2,530 in savings
But before applying, you must first be selected in a ballot.
How Does the Ballot Work?
The final ballot opens at 1:30 PM (UK time) on July 22 and closes 48 hours later, on July 24 at 1:30 PM.
Entering the ballot is free, but if you're selected, you’ll need to pay a £319 visa fee.
To enter the ballot, you’ll need to provide:
- Name, date of birth, and passport details
- A photo or scan of your passport
- Phone number and email address
What Documents Will You Need If Selected?
- Valid passport
- Proof of savings (£2,530 or more in your bank account)
- Proof of your qualification
- TB test results (if you're living in India)
- Police clearance certificate from India
There are 3,000 places in total for 2025. Most were offered in February, and the remaining spots will be filled through this final July ballot.
What Happens If You're Selected?
If you’re successful in the ballot:
- You’ll get an email inviting you to apply online for the visa
- You have 90 days from that email to complete your visa application
- You’ll need to:
- Pay the £319 visa fee
- Pay the immigration health surcharge
- Give biometric information (fingerprints and a photo)
Don’t worry, if you’re selected but decide not to apply the UK Youth Mobility scheme, that’s totally fine too.
