Passport Warning: Passport Blank Pages

As holiday destinations overseas open for visitors, all travellers are being urged to check the blank pages in their passports before jetting off for their getaway this year.

Passport validity is not the only detail holidaymakers need to be conscious of. Travellers need to ensure that when planning a trip abroad, they must check that their travel documents have sufficient blank pages for visas to be issued and immigration stamps.

Although it may sound obvious to many, some people don't check that their passports will be valid for the entire duration of the trip.

Countries have varying requirements for blank pages on the passport so you must check your chosen destination or risk being denied entry.

So if you have plans to travel soon and your passport is running out of pages then you should renew your passport.

British Holidaymakers To The Schengen Area

Since the UK left the EU, it’s now more important than ever to check your passport before travelling as everyone who holds a British passport must follow the Schengen area requirements for trips to any EU country except Ireland.

According to new Schengen area requirements, passports should be valid for at least three months before travel however, the issue date of your passport also is affected by the rules.

To travel, a British passport must have been issued less than 10 years before the date you enter the country you’re intending to travel to.

UK Passport Price Increase

British passport applications are about to rise in price.

From February 2, new passport fees will be introduced for all applications including those who are newly applying or are renewing their passport.

If your passport has less than six months of validity or is running out of pages, it is recommended to apply for a new passport immediately. The government advises allowing for up to 10 weeks for a new passport but this can vary depending on where you are applying from.
