Singapore To Lift Covid-19 Travel Curbs – Replacing Vaccinated Travel Lanes (VTL)
Singapore will lift restrictions for all vaccinated travellers from the beginning of April.
The city-state is a gateway for many travellers arriving in the Asia-Pacific, and it had already started quarantine-free travel schemes with some countries in recent months.
From 1 April, fully vaccinated adults and unvaccinated children will be allowed to enter the country without quarantine, as long as they take a pre-departure test, officials said.
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said Singapore had reached a “major milestone” in its efforts to live with the virus.
Easing travel curbs will “reconnect Singapore with the world,” he said in a televised address.
“It will give a much-needed boost to businesses, particularly the tourism sector, and it will help Singapore reclaim its position as a business and aviation hub,” he added.
Who Can Enter Singapore
Singapore introduced a new simplified framework that will allow fully vaccinated travellers to enter Singapore quarantine-free and will be replacing all existing vaccinated travel lanes (VTL) and unilateral opening arrangements.
All fully vaccinated travellers from any country or region will be able to enter Singapore without the need for quarantine, as long as they have not visited any countries or regions in the restricted category in the past seven days.
There are currently no countries or regions in the restricted category.
This means that such travellers will no longer be required to apply for a vaccinated travel pass (VTP) or air travel pass (ATP) for entry into Singapore.
Travellers holding a valid VTP or ATP can continue to enter Singapore under the VTL or unilateral opening arrangement until 31 March, after which, they will no longer be required to present their passes.
Requirements To Enter Singapore
All arrivals must present proof of their negative PCR test or professionally administered/remotely supervised antigen test.
Proof of vaccination can be presented as a National Health Service COVID passes on the NHS mobile app for travellers from the UK and EU Digital COVID Certificates for those travelling from the EU.
Three days before departure, travellers are required to apply for an SG Arrival Card (online health declaration). Visitors are also asked to purchase health insurance with a minimum coverage of S$30,000 for COVID-related medical emergencies.
