Nomad’s Dream: Europe’s Easy-to-Obtain Digital Nomad Visas
With the rise of remote work and the digital nomad lifestyle, Europe has become a haven for professionals seeking to combine work and leisure.
Europe offers a myriad of options for those looking to work remotely in a new and inspiring environment.
There are numerous digital nomad visas available in Europe, and visa applications are notoriously time-consuming, expensive, and unpredictable due to red tape and unclear visa hurdles.
Here are three of the simplest, cheapest, and shortest European digital nomad visa processes.
Hungary
Hungary has surged in popularity among digital nomads over recent years. The Hungary digital nomad visa, also known as the White Card, is the cheapest digital nomad visa in Europe currently available.
White Card holders can stay for up to one year with a renewal option. However, the nearest Hungarian embassy and paying a one-time €100 fee, applicants will usually get their entry visa within just 30 days.
With just a €2,000 minimum income requirement, digital nomads worldwide can come and live in the country for up to two years.
Budapest, Hungary's capital, is reportedly one of the cheapest capital city in the world for digital nomads.
Most digital nomads choose to stay less than 183 days to meet the requirements for a tax-free stay in Hungary.

Malta's Nomad Residence Permit is open to those who live outside of EU countries and work for a company that is based outside of Malta. Interested applicants can apply online and have an approval rate of nearly 90% in 30 working days.
Remote workers should prove they earn at least €2,700 per month to be eligible for Malta's Nomad Residence Permit.
Croatia
Croatia has recently joined the EU’s Schengen Zone and is a more attractive option for digital nomads than ever before.
According to reports, Croatia’s digital nomad visa approval rate stands at 97%. Applications can be lodged online or in person at the nearest Croatian embassy or consulate and you can receive an answer in just a matter of weeks.
Applicants should prove an income of €2,5400 per month. Croatia’s one-year residence permit is the perfect choice for digital nomads.
