- do a brief time of research as a major aspect of a degree course in the event that you are studying abroad

- learn at a state school

To what extent you can remain
You can remain in the UK for:
- a half year - for any short course (counting English dialect courses), or brief time of research in case you're 18 or over
- 11 months - in case you're 18 or over and taking an English dialect course
- You can apply for a visa up to 3 months before your date of travel to the UK.
- You ought to get a result on your visa within 3 weeks.
