UK Visa For Young Indians Opens In February
The ballot system for young Indian professionals seeking an India Young Professional Scheme visa would begin the following week.
The India Youth Professional Scheme (YPS) provides opportunities for young Indian professionals to gain work experience, develop their skills, and connect with professionals in their chosen fields in the United Kingdom.
There will be 2,400 visas available in February for young Indian professionals aged 18 to 30 years old to live in the United Kingdom without a sponsorship letter or job offer for up to two years. Interested applicants need to apply and be selected through a ballot system before they can apply for the visa. Successful entries will be chosen randomly.
The ballot will open at 2:30 PM India Standard Time on 28 February 2023 and will close at 2:30 PM India Standard Time on 2 March 2023.
Who Can Submit A Ballot
To be eligible for the visa scheme, you must fit the following criteria:
- Be an Indian citizen
- Be between 18 and 30 years of age
- Have an eligible qualification (a bachelor’s level degree or above)
- Have £2,530 (about Rs2,53,479) in savings
You must enter the ballot online which will be free of charge.
You will need to provide your:
- Name
- Date of birth
- Passport details
- A copy of your passport
- Phone number
- Email address
The link to enter the ballot will be announced later.

To submit your entry, check the official website to be on a queue. You should queue on the device you are going to use to submit your entry. See below.
Once selected, you can apply for the visa which costs £259 within 30 days. You also need to pay a healthcare surcharge of £940.
Unsuccessful applicants can enter future ballots if they still meet the requirements.
