Japan To Lift Covid Restrictions
Japan will scrap nearly all its remaining entry requirements and allow for normal tourism after over 2 years of stringent restrictions.
The land of the rising sun has allowed a small number of visitors since June, but only as part of strictly managed tour groups.
Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida announced that Japan will resume visa-free entry for individual travellers on 11 October.
This means that from 11 October, Covid travel requirements will be dropped and the cap on daily arrivals lifted and it will allow visa-free entry for visitors from 68 countries as it did before the pandemic.
“Japan will relax border control measures to be on par with the US,”

Entry Rules To Japan
Travel to Japan will get much easier on 11 October, but some restrictions are still in place.
Specifically, visitors entering Japan will either need to have received three shots of a Covid-19 vaccine or take a pre-arrival PCR test. Fully vaccinated individuals will not have to take a pre-departure test and can travel to Japan much like they could before the pandemic.
Mask use is still strongly recommended by the local government in certain situations, such as most public transportation.
