One Visa for Six Gulf Nations Is on the Way

Visiting several Gulf nations will soon be easier than before.

A new Schengen-style tourist visa – called the GCC Grand Tours Visa or Unified Tourist Visa – will soon let you explore Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates using just one permit.

Instead of applying for separate visas for each country, travellers will soon be able to visit multiple Gulf states with a single visa.

This new visa aims to make multi-country trips in the region more convenient and affordable, whether you're sightseeing, visiting family, or enjoying a short getaway.

Here’s what we know so far:

  • The visa will cover all six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
  • You'll have the choice between a single-country visa or a multi-country visa.
  • The application will be fully online via a new digital platform.
  • It will likely be valid for 30 to 90 days.
  • The price hasn’t been announced yet, but it’s expected to be cheaper than getting six separate visas.

The visa doesn’t allow work or long-term stays – it’s strictly for tourism and short visits. The idea of a multiple-entry visa is on the table, but exact rules are yet to be confirmed.

When Can You Apply?

The Unified Tourist Visa is expected to launch by late 2025 or early 2026.

Once live, the application process will be simple and digital.

You’ll need to provide:

  • Personal and trip details
  • Travel plans across Gulf countries
  • Documents like a valid passport, photo, proof of accommodation, travel insurance, and a return or onward ticket

Applications must be submitted and approved online before travel. If an application is denied, the applicant will be notified of the reason. In most cases, reapplication is allowed once the issue is resolved, or guidance can be sought from the relevant immigration office.

After approval, you’ll receive your visa by email. Make sure to print a copy to carry with you during your trip.
