Singapore Eases Restrictions For Non-Vaccinated Travellers
Singapore will allow unvaccinated travellers to enter the country without quarantine or post-arrival testing, as part of a broader move to fully ease Covid-19 restrictions, including the wearing of masks.
From 29 August 2022, unvaccinated travellers will no longer be required to undergo a seven-day Stay Home Notice (SHN) quarantine period on arrival into the city-state, or to take a PCR test at the end of the seven days.
Entry to Singapore
Travellers will however still have to take a pre-departure test within two days of departing for Singapore.
Officials also require incoming visitors to show proof of COVID-19 travel insurance with a minimum coverage of SDG 30,000. Lack of compliance may result in fines, imprisonment, and/or revocation of a traveller’s residency or work permit.
All travellers entering Singapore via air or sea must also submit their electronic health declaration (SG Arrival Card) before they enter Singapore. Submissions can be made up to three days before arrival in Singapore, and travellers are strongly encouraged to do so before departing for Singapore, to facilitate a smooth arrival process in the country.
In addition, mask-wearing will no longer be compulsory in most indoor settings, except for those “where essential services are carried out in enclosed and crowded areas, and which are frequently used by vulnerable persons”.
When Testing Positive For Covid-19
After 2 years of living with Covid, interest in travelling abroad is booming again. As the virus is still circulating, travellers need to plan for the possibility that they might get COVID-19 while they’re far from home.
In the event that travellers test positive for Covid-19 while visiting Singapore, Singapore's Ministry of Health (MOH) has issued a set of protocols.
Travellers are expected to bear all costs of COVID-19-related treatment, testing and recovery in Singapore. Check the official website to get the latest instructions.
