UK Visa Application Processing Reduced Back To 15 Days For Indians

The United Kingdom is back to processing visa applications within the standard of 15 days, with priority visas being processed within five days.

With a surge in travel demand post-pandemic, the UK, like many other countries, has been struggling with immigration backlogs.

Ellis stated that some of the complicated visas might take more time as there is a sizable number of Indians in the United Kingdom on student visas and it has even overtaken China in terms of the largest nationality being issued sponsored student visas.

It is to be noted that the authorities in the UK have advised the visa applicants to apply 3 months in advance as per their official statement on the website.

India Has The Highest Number of Issued Visas

The latest UK Immigration Statistics published in August show that nearly 118,000 Indian students received a Student visa in the year ending June 2022.

India has now overtaken China as the largest nationality being issued sponsored study visas in the UK and Indian nationals accounted for the highest proportion of Visitor visas granted.

More than 258,000 Indian nationals received visit visas in the year ending June 2022.

Data also shows that Indians continue to remain at the top of the list in terms of the number of Skilled Worker visas granted in the year ending June 2022.
